Lesson 01
The menu bar belongs to the front app
The menus at the top belong to whichever app you are using. Loyal, but only to one at a time.
Windows put menus inside each window. A Mac puts them all in one strip at the top, belonging to whichever app you are in. Once that clicks, the menu bar stops being confusing and becomes the fastest way to find any feature.
Do this now
Open Finder and look at the strip along the very top of the screen. Now click on any other app and look at that strip again.
You will know it worked when
Everything between the Apple logo and the icons on the right has changed. The bold name just after the Apple logo is always whichever app you are in.
▶ Nothing happened?
Nothing changed? You may have clicked another window belonging to the same app. Switch between two obviously different ones, like Notes and Safari.
