Open the terminal where you are

The terminal is much less intimidating once you can leave whenever you want.

open .

The two-way door between Finder and the terminal. Typing open . in a terminal opens that folder in Finder; a Finder service does the reverse. Once this is easy you stop avoiding the terminal.
